Impossible Requests Annunciation 9-Month Novena

🙏 The Impossible Requests Novena

Also known as The Walk of the Incarnation

📜 History & Devotional Meaning

The Impossible Requests Novena is a nine-month devotion invoking the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It traditionally begins on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation—when Christ was conceived in the womb of the Blessed Mother—and ends on December 25, Christmas Day, when He was born. (276 days total)

This novena is a journey through the mystery of the Incarnation, and each day of prayer is offered for three personal intentions—often difficult, urgent, or seemingly impossible in nature. These are entrusted to Our Lady with faith and humility, believing in the words of Scripture: "For nothing will be impossible with God" (Luke 1:37).

Though we trust that God can work miracles through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, we also submit to His holy will, knowing that even when prayers seem unanswered, His plan is always better than our own.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)

To accompany this novena, it is a pious and beautiful practice to:

  • Attend Mass on the 25th of each month

  • Go to Confession monthly from March through December

🗓️ Traditional Dates:

March 25 – December 24
(But you may begin the novena at any time if needed)

✨ How to Pray the Novena

Each day, present your three impossible requests. These may be spiritual, emotional, physical, or situational needs—entrusted to Mary under the title Virgin of the Incarnation.

You will pray for each intention individually using the following structure.

🙏 Novena Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V – Pray for us, most holy Mother of God
R – That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Virgin of the Incarnation, a thousand times we greet thee, a thousand times we praise thee for thy joy when God was incarnated in thee.
Because thou art so powerful a Virgin and Mother of God, grant what we ask of thee for the love of God.

(Now pray for your FIRST request)

📿 Final Prayers

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession
was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my mother.
To thee do I come, before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Blessed and praised be the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, in Heaven, on earth, and everywhere.

Amen.
